Mandrake el Mago por Mapanare: Presentación. D001 D002 D003 D004; S001-002-003

Aquí Mapanare y les traigo el proyecto "Mandrake el Mago"

Mandrake el Mago es un personaje muy conocido, valiéndose de la magia corre todo tipo de aventuras, tiene un enemigo a su nivel otro mago, "El Cobra", antagonistas desde que asistían a la escuela de magia. (Hasta aquí cualquier parecido con el mago Harry Potter es mera coincidencia) publicada su primera tira el 11 de junio de 1.934, creado por Lee Falk, quien hizo el  guión hasta su muerte en 1.999 y también fue el dibujante de las primeras tiras, antes de lanzar su otra creación "El Fantasma".

Las aventuras de este personaje se han publicado en los periódicos de todo el mundo en tiras diarias hasta la fecha, por mas de 80 años, aunque la ultima tira de nuevo cuño fue publicada el 6 de julio de 2.013, a partir de esa fecha se están publicando reimpresiones volviendo a las aventuras de 1.995, También se publicaron planchas dominicales desde el 3 de febrero de 1.935 hasta el 29 de diciembre de 2.002.

En España, se han publicado la mayoría de las tiras diarias hasta 1.984 y algunas de las dominicales, por las editoriales Hispano americana, Garbo y Bruguera.

El proyecto consiste en recopilar el mayor número de aventuras completas de este personaje, especialmente las planchas dominicales que no se publicaron en España, en ellas el dibujante pudo expresarse con más libertad por el mayor tamaño de las viñetas y los guiones son más fantásticos. (El público de las tiras diarias y él de los dominicales es diferente)

Dado que es una obra muy extensa 266 aventuras diarias (más de 24.500 tiras) y 187 dominicales (más de 3.450 planchas), para alcanzar el objetivo, tengo que limitar mi aporte de la siguiente manera:

1.- Recopilare las aventuras en uno de dos idiomas, español o ingles de forma indiferente y no haré traducciones de otros idiomas (que pueden tener mejor calidad) salvo casos excepcionales.

2.- He ubicado de diferentes fuentes un 60% de la obra, esto proviene de reimpresiones escaneadas y recopilaciones de otros aficionados.

3.- Por lo anterior, el material nuevo que aporte para cubrir la mayor parte del 40% faltante provendrá de las hemerotecas, eso es copia de la copia de la copia y a veces mutilada, por eso, daré mayor importancia a la integridad de los diálogos, de forma que si alguien quiere en un futuro traducir y rotular en español una aventura bellamente impresa en otro idioma, cuente con la versión original en ingles o con una versión en español con traducción de calidad.

4.- Empezaré publicando cuatro aventuras diarias y tres aventuras dominicales cada domingo tratando de seguir el orden cronológico. Con esta velocidad tardare 15 meses en alcanzar el objetivo.

5.- Usare la numeración internacional: mandrake DXXX para las aventuras diarias y

mandrake SXXX para las dominicales.

6.- Inconvenientes de la tarea: Los editores de reimpresiones, han cambiado el nombre y han borrado de forma sistemática la fecha de publicación original, con lo que es muy difícil identificar algunas aventuras que circulan por la red. Los personajes y la puesta en escena fueron punteros en su momento, sin embargo estaban limitados por el medio que los publicó, por lo que hoy en día parecen arcaicos, pongo en duda que alguna editorial lance una edición completa de Mandrake y la termine (Esto justifica este tabajo). Estimo que la obra completa ocupará unos 10 Gigas, lo que me imposibilita para subir los archivos en una descarga única.
